Chris Yong-Garcia

Chris is a bicultural visual artist, cultural producer, and graphic designer based in New York City. He started his art studies at a very young age at Lima’s Museum of Art (MALI), during his last year of high school, at the age of 16, he won a national painting contest organized by the Peruvian Telephone Company. His painting was used to illustrate the cover of the phone book.

After launching his career as an art director at JWT (James Walter Thompson), he went on to join the creative team at Indika Advertising New York’s office, where he developed innovative campaigns for HBO, Miramax Films, Spike TV, IFC Films, and the Weinstein Company, to name a few. In 2008, he founded his graphic design studio, Eyestorm Design, and since then, he has developed projects for organizations that focus on education, social justice, and culture.

He is also the founder of Latin Lover Food & Travel Magazine; launched in January 2012, the publication strives to unite Latinos and non-Latinos with the common denominator of love for Latin culture with the goal of creating a community around the cuisine and culture of Latin America.
